I've developed a deck of Futures Cards, I call them NotYetPossible.  I find them useful in triggering imaginations, as a tool to prompt students think of the unfamiliar, out-of-the-ordinary, weird, ridiculous ideas.

Students were asked to randomly draw 3 cards from a deck of 99 cards and use them to create a short story in 2 minutes.  Just a quick and fun activity.

I run this activity before I introduce scenarios. There was always some interesting reactions -- "oh wow,  OMG, What!!, this is crazy! how to think?" Students seemed to be a bit weary, almost scared to use those prompts to create stories.  They seemed stuck with the dominant rules, systems, familiarities, quite afraid to step out into the unknown.  I feel this was one of the main reasons for these cards.
